Plant Care Guidelines

Adaptation:  Throughout the United States.

Flowering Time:  Summer to fall.

Light:  Full sun.

Planting Time:  From late winter or spring, when all danger of frost is past, to midsummer.

Soil:  Any good, well-drained garden soil. pH 5.5 to 7.5.

Fertilizer:  Fertilize with a balanced plant food according to label directions.

Water:
How much: Apply enough water to wet the soil 6 to 8 inches deep.

How often: Water when the soil 1 inch below the surface is just barely moist.

Handling:  For continuous summer bloom, make successive plantings at 2-week intervals from mid-April to mid-July. For cut flowers, harvest when the bottom flower is open. When cutting flowers, allow at least four leaves to remain on the plant.
